Thierry Fusco, Senior Research Director at ONERA

 Scientific Deputy Director of the ONERA’s Optics Department. 

After a PhD in the field of multi-conjugate Adaptive Optics [AO], T Fusco moved to ONERA in 2001. He has successfully managed research projects in defence and astronomical domains in international contexts. From 2006 to 2015, he was the AO Scientist of SAXO-SPHERE on the European Very Large Telescope [VLT]. He is the AO Scientist for HARMONI on the European Extremely Large Telescope [ELT] since 2015. Thierry has supervised more than 20 PhD thesis and 14 post-docs. He has won several scientific prices (French Optical Society award “Fabry de Gramont”, French Aeronautics and Astronautics Association “Scientific Excellence” award and the French Academy Scientific Award “Grand prix de Charles Defforey”). He has more than 200 refereed papers, and 400+ conference proceedings.
