HIGH-FINESSE CAVITY SPECTROSCOPY AS A TOOL FOR ASTRONOMICAL DETECTION
Since 2013, Bérenger Gans has been a Research Scientist at ISMO (Institute of Molecular Sciences of Orsay), within the SYSTEMAE group (Molecular Systems in Astrophysics and Environment).
A specialist in gas-phase molecular spectroscopy, his research focuses on studying stable molecules and radical species, particularly their interactions with radiation spanning visible to vacuum ultraviolet wavelengths. To pursue this work, he develops and employs cutting-edge experimental setups integrating advanced laser sources and synchrotron radiation.
His work emphasizes molecules of astrophysical relevance, earning him a position on the scientific board of the national program dedicated to the physical chemistry of the interstellar medium.
